There isn't an online entrepreneur who doesn't know what getting to the front page of Google can do for their site. Being able to leverage Google is like having your own personal traffic generator. In this article we will be looking at a few simple but effective methods that will help you reach the top of Google.

Getting your site to the top of the SERPs will be easier if you have a good domain name. Undoubtedly, achieving high rankings for your site in Google will be easier if your main keywords are in your domain name. It is vital, though, to keep in mind that your domain name is only one of a multitude of factors that play a role in the rankings your site achieves. Thus, any domain name you register must include your principal keyword. You should also ensure that your domain name starts with your keyword and there is nothing before it. When Google sees another word at the beginning of your domain name, like "my", it automatically presumes that your site is less relevant. There's nothing wrong in ending your domain name with an additional word, but it has to make sense and be done properly. If you are lucky enough to get a domain name that is just your principal keyword, then that's great, but if not, you know what needs to be done.

If you want a positive reaction from Google, your content should have a naturally occurring keyword density. With so much spam on search engines, Google is doing their best to minimize it all the time by constantly changing their approach and their algorithm. Therefore, stuffing your content with keywords will only lead to the search engine seeing you as a spammer. A keyword density of above 5% will land you in hot water, so keep it lower than that. To avoid having your site penalized, you need to analyze matters from the search engine's perspective, which will help you understand what they are looking for and you will find that once you give it to them both parties will benefit.

One thing you shouldn't overlook is the "Title" tag of your website because it does carry weight. Your primary keyword should be featured in the Title tag because that's what Google uses to determine what you should rank for. On the other hand, don't get excited and put too many keywords in your Title tag. Two keywords in the Title is fine, but don't go over that number. One good way of doing this is to make one keyword out of two. Getting your site to the front of the Google SERPs isn't too hard, neither is increasing your rank as long as you know what to do. Just get started and implement the advice in this article and the results will speak for themselves.
