Not everybody has been granted the smooth alabaster skin that you see on glossy magazine covers . As a matter of fact, not even those models have that kind of skin (it's called airbrushing). Even if you do have smooth, blemish-free skin, you won't wake up every single day looking like that. For days like these, the right beauty products will be your best friends.
Concealer 101: for pimples, dark circles , or uneven skin tone, the concealer is one of the beauty products that will make life so much brighter. After applying foundation, you can apply concealer to the darker areas of your face.
As with most beauty products, certain concealers work well with for certain problems. Here are some common skin problems and how to conceal them:
Undereye Circles
Dark circles can either be caused by inadequate sleep or simply due to your genes. For faint circles, you can use a lightweight concealer in liquid form. Apply it with a concealer brush than with your finger because it will provide a more even coverage and it would be more gentle to the delicate skin in your eye area.
Opt for a concealer that is two shades lighter than your natural skin tone so that it will cover up the deeper shade of your undereye circles. Start at the inner corners of your eyes and then work your way to the outer corner.
If your dark circles are of an even deeper color then you can use a cream based concealer, preferably in a pink tone in order to offset the blue tone under the skin caused by the veins.
Pimples
A few pimples can easily be covered up with the right beauty products. First, you will need to minimize the redness by applying an oil-free liquid foundation all over your face and neck. Use a damp latex makeup sponge to do so. Let it dry before applying a liquid concealer over the pimples.
Buy a green concealer because this will neutralize the redness of your pimples. It may look strange, but it will work its magic . Simply cover it with your foundation after applying.
Blemishes
If your scars are indented, then you can apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin over it to make it appear more raised and seem leveled to the rest of your skin. Use a thin brush to make your application more accurate.
If you have raised scars which bother you, apply lucid powder with a small powder brush on it to remove the shine and make it seem more level to the rest of your skin.
