Veneers are usually manufactured from Oak, Cherry wood, Hickory, Maple, Red Oak or Ash. Laminates are a facing replacement that is made of PVC plastic (Poly Vinyl Chloride) and is attached to fiberboard, which is comprised of mechanically compressed wood shavings. Laminates are less likely to become scratched or marred unlike wood which scratches easily.

Replacing the whole cabinet is another option for remodeling however this method can be quite costly depending on which type you choose to use. Available in several makes, such as ready to assemble, stock, semi custom, custom, framed or frameless. The least expensive type is stock, which is followed by ready to assemble. The median priced types are the semi-custom make. The most expensive make of cabinet is the custom which allows the most creative freedom but can be very costly because it is built to customer specifications and desires.

Installation of cabinets may be costly if done by professional installation company however there is always the option of doing the installation on your own which is less expensive but time consuming. When it comes to remodeling cabinets the availability of creative options are vast.
