Treatment for rosacea has been researched and made as almost 14 million Americans are affected by it. Rosacea is a skin condition where pimples and redness occur on the chin, cheeks and across the nose. There are many famous people who suffered from this including Bill Clinton, the late Princess Diana and W.C. Fields. Usually, this emerges when a person reaches the age of 30 and can result to embarrassment, loss of confidence and psychological distress. There is no cure for rosacea but it can be managed and controlled.

One treatment for rosacea is simply avoiding things that trigger it. too much sun exposure can trigger this skin condition. It is therefore advised not to stay long under the sun. One must wear a powerful sun block with at least an SPF of 15 to cover the face if sun exposure cannot be avoided.

Other triggering factors are the wind and extreme temperature both in and outside of the house. It is necessary to seek protection from these environmental elements. When it is too cold, the heater inside the house must be switched on. During hot temperature, use of an air conditioner is vital. During a windy day, one day should just stay inside the house .

One should also avoid spicy food, alcohol and hot drinks. These lead to the flushing of the face that can worsen rosacea. It is best to maintain a diet with plenty of fiber-enriched fruits and vegetables as these help preserve healthy skin.

Another treatment for rosacea is to simply take good care of the skin. This can be done by cleaning it with mild facial cleansers. It is best to ask a dermatologist of the best facial cleansers that are gentle enough for sensitive skin. It is also important not to scrub or dry the face with anything that is rough such as a loofah. A gentle washcloth is recommended .

When moisturizing the face, a gentle cream should be used. Such creams should contain either chamomile or comfrey which will eliminate the redness of the face. Again, it would be a dermatologist who can best recommend a type of cream for a certain face.

There are also rosacea medical treatments. An antibiotic may be necessary if the condition becomes worse. An antibiotic with tetracyclene brings down the severity of rosacea flares. Topical creams, lotions or ointments are prescribed and they should be applied as directed. When the symptoms of rosacea have decreased , it is still vital to continue with these treatments upon the advice of the doctor.

Nowadays, a laser treatment for rosacea is available. This is necessary if the blood vessels have fully developed, uneven bumps have emerged across the nose and extreme red patches have showed up. Laser treatment will alleviate these unsightly symptoms.

Many women use makeup so as to cover the symptoms of rosacea. However, this should not be frequently done as there are ingredients that may worsen the condition. Stress can also trigger rosacea flare-ups therefore one should avoid any form of stress.

These are the various treatments for rosacea that should be accompanied by the approval of a dermatologist.
