A lot of people tend to think that having excess pounds will make it hard difficult for a guy to be fashionable. Well, that is actually correct. Clothes do not really look that great when a man has a prominent belly and pant seams that look like they are going to burst. However, there are actually ways for men's apparel to look nice even for someone with a lot of extra pounds. So, a lot of people say that the best fashion advice for men to look good in their clothes would be to keep a good weight. But for those with extra weight, fashion solutions have to be done now, and fast. Fortunately, there are actually fixes that would guarantee for these hefty men to look presentable.
The first mistake that rotund men usually commit is that they wear clothes that are exactly their size. Some even go to the extent of going a size smaller to make them look svelte. For women, they have an instant solution for that: spanx. So unless a guy wants to don spanx (and there are actually spanx for men already), then he has to be realistic enough and look for clothes that fit just right. Men of a certain size do not really have the luxury of buying ready to wear clothing as their extra pounds will be displayed if they choose clothes that fit too tight, and they may look bigger if they wear clothes that are too loose. They have to be careful and choose men's apparel that smoothen the surface of the body, at least, visually.
There are also shirts and jackets that draw attention to a man's midsection. This includes tops that have shoulders that are sloped and those that have bold patterns. For the design of the shoulder, it would be better for round men to wear clothes with shoulders that are more squared, as these draw more attention to the chest, shoulders and face of the person rather than the stomach area. As for bold patterns, they also draw attention to a person's top half. Solid colored shorts are better, especially dark ones, as they make anyone look slimmer. Vertical stripes are also recommended as they change the orientation of a person's vision, making the round body long more elongated.
Low-rise bottoms are not just for sexy ones but also recommended for men with extra weight. This is not necessarily to accentuate your butt crack, but they are recommended to be worn by heavyset men because the space between the waistband's top portion and the pants' crotch is shorter compared to the regular pants. But the lose rise jeans that should be worn would be the type that has a large waistband so that the belly of the wearer would not stick out, lessening what is called a 'muffin top' (or love handles oozing out).
Alas, an easy trick for a heavy guy to remember is to have a smoother pant line, meaning no budging stud in the pockets. Wallets, cell phones will only make the midsection more prominent in men's apparel. This visual trick can be done without having to invest too much, as pants can be altered, and the items can be placed in a trendy satchel.
